These covers, primarily measuring 5 feet 10 inches, were engineered to withstand FACTA Class ‘B’ vehicle loading, making them an ideal choice for areas subject to heavy traffic. Their operation was facilitated by hand pumps, acting on hydraulic cylinders, ensuring ease of use and reliability.
Additionally, the project required a significant number of stainless steel covers, with more than 70 crafted to fit dimensions of 4 feet with recesses of 1 inch and 3 inches.
These were designed to blend seamlessly with the palace’s aesthetics, featuring gas spring assistance and a polished stainless steel top trim for the internal HIAC covers, which measured 1 foot 11 inches by 1 foot 11 inches. The recesses allowed for the incorporation of marble, adding to the luxury finishes of the palace’s interior.
Surespan also supplied stainless steel Roof Hatches, in dimensions of 2 feet 7 inches by 2 feet 11 inches and 1 foot 11 inches by 1 foot 11 inches. These hatches were not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, being fire-rated for up to two hours. The finishes included a powder coating in RAL 9010, providing durability and complementing the palace’s sophisticated design palette.
