Aston Martin Silverstone

Surespan had the privilege of contributing to a landmark project for the Aston Martin Racing Formula 1 team with the creation of their brand-new headquarters, located at the iconic Silverstone Race Track in Northamptonshire, England.

This pioneering facility, known as the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One® Team Technology Campus, represents a significant step forward for the team, embodying a $240 million investment into its future ambitions and prowess in Formula 1 racing.

Spread across a three-building racing compound and factory; this state-of-the-art campus is strategically positioned across the road from the historic Silverstone Grand Prix racing track, further cementing the team’s legacy in the epicentre of British motorsport.

For this groundbreaking project, Surespan was tasked with supplying bespoke access solutions tailored to the unique needs of this high-tech facility. We provided SRHPE Double-Leaf Roof hatches measuring 4200 x 3000mm, designed to facilitate easy access while maintaining the integrity and security of the facility.

These hatches, hinged long and operated by two actuators, are engineered for reliability and ease of use, ensuring seamless operation within the demanding environment of a Formula 1 team headquarters.

Each hatch features a self-coloured finish as standard, blending effortlessly with the campus’s architectural aesthetics. The SP1185/G Control Box, specifically designed for the double leaf unit, was used alongside the SP1161 Key Switch, ensuring controlled and secure access.

Additionally, lifting eyes were incorporated for ease of installation and maintenance. The design also includes double unbroken EPDM seals, providing a weathertight seal to protect against environmental elements. The hatches are capable of opening to an angle of 85°, allowing for ample access space.

Through our involvement in the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One® Team Technology Campus project, Surespan has once again demonstrated its capability to deliver custom-engineered access solutions that meet our clients’ precise requirements. This collaboration underscores our commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of access products, playing a crucial role in supporting the ambitions of one of the most prestigious names in motorsport.
