Our response was the provision of the SLHP sliding roof hatch, meticulously designed to meet the specific requirements of this challenging environment. The SLHP hatch, measuring 18′-3″ x 13′-2″ for the structural opening, features a lid designed to slide across the width on runners positioned on the roof.
This design choice was pivotal for ensuring that maintenance crews could gain unobstructed access to the rollercoaster carts, thereby streamlining the maintenance process and minimising downtime for this critical attraction.
Operated by a 230v geared motor, the SLHP hatch combines ease of use with robust performance. The lid and upstand are infused with 1″ thick CFC and HCFC free polyisocyanurate insulation, achieving a U-Value of 0.43 W/m^2K. This not only ensures operational efficiency but also contributes to the sustainability objectives of the project by minimising energy loss.
The hatch was engineered to seamlessly integrate with the existing infrastructure, sitting on an existing upstand, thus avoiding the need for extensive modifications to the park’s structure. This design consideration was critical in meeting the project’s timelines and budget constraints, demonstrating Surespan’s commitment to delivering tailored, efficient solutions.
