In supporting the continued evolution of this retail giant, Surespan was tasked with enhancing the store’s infrastructure through the supply of over 30 HIAC aluminium recessed floor hatches tailored to various specifications, including sizes of 1500 x 900mm, 1200 x 1200mm, 1000 x 2000mm, 600 x 2000mm, 700 x 800mm, 900 x 1200mm, and multiple 1200 x 1200mm units. Designed to integrate seamlessly with Amtico flooring, each hatch was recessed by 4mm, ensuring a flush and unobtrusive finish that maintains the aesthetic integrity of the store’s luxurious interiors.
Rated at Facta Class ‘A’, these hatches are engineered for pedestrian use and can withstand up to 5kN (0.6 tonnes) wheel loads, ensuring durability and safety for both staff and visitors. Incorporating gas spring-assisted opening mechanisms facilitates ease of access, while a fire rating of up to 4 hours (from the underside only) ensures compliance with stringent safety standards.
