A crucial element of this project involved the construction of a fountain equipment room to support The Springs. Surespan’s expertise was sought to provide robust and efficient access solutions for this vital infrastructure. We supplied several HLIAC/FR60 Recessed Floor Hatches, crafted from Stainless Steel Grade 304, in dimensions of 72″x72″ (1829x1829mm) and 36″x36″ (914x914mm), each recessed by 2.75″ (70mm). These hatches are designed to withstand an 11-tonne (108kN) slow-moving wheel load whilst being engineered for durability and ease of access, featuring hydraulic cylinders and hand pump operation.
Key features of these hatches include a weighted sound reduction of 45dB, ensuring minimal disruption from the mechanical operations below to the serene park environment. Additionally, retractable safety grids on two sides, which can be locked in a raised or stored position by a padlock, enhance the safety and security of the installation. These features are crucial for the wet well and valve vault areas, providing secure and efficient access for maintenance and operations staff.
To complement these installations, SP1182-US control units equipped with a 24V DC transformer and battery backup ensure continuous operation, while SP1161A external key switches, rated IP66, offer secure and reliable control over access to the equipment room.
