The standard SAC floor hatch is equipped with an aluminium 5-bar tread plate lid (chequer plate finish), offering durability and slip resistance. A plain plate finish is also available for a smoother appearance, and an anti-slip coating can be applied for enhanced safety. While the lid is flush with the floor, it is not designed to blend with typical flooring materials but ensures a low profile that minimises tripping hazards.
Minimal maintenance is needed; regular cleaning and occasional checks of the opening mechanism are recommended.

Surespan provides additional safety features designed to complement our Floor Access Hatches. These include a Pressure Sensitive Edge (Electric Only) for enhanced safety during closure, a convenient Retractable Handhold to aid entry and exit, the Ladder Up Post for secure vertical access, and the Safety Grid for fall protection when the hatch is open. Each option enhances user safety and accessibility during floor access operations.
