Fixed Vertical Access

Vertical Access Ladders

Surespan fixed vertical access ladders are designed for permanent access to roofs, plant platforms, service zones, shafts, and other elevated locations where dependable climbing access is required. They can be configured for interior or exterior use and are commonly specified for commercial, industrial, utility, and institutional projects.

  • Structural ladder geometry: Source dimensions include 1.9 in. OD (48.3 mm) tubular stringers set 15.7 in. (400 mm) apart, with widths from 11.8 to 23.6 in. (300 to 600 mm) and serrated rungs at 9.8 in. (250 mm) centers on first mention.
  • Material options: Marine-grade aluminum and galvanized steel configurations are available to suit corrosion exposure, duty level, and finish requirements.
  • Safety integration: Depending on project requirements, systems can incorporate cages, guardrails, locking devices, walk-through tops, and fall-protection provisions. Source references to BS 4211 should be reviewed alongside applicable North American safety and access requirements for the project jurisdiction.

  • Project-specific access: Walk-through tops, up-and-over arrangements, parapet transitions, and other custom ladder forms are available for more complex routing conditions.
