Glazed Smoke Vent

The SRHGE glazed smoke vent combines smoke ventilation, daylighting, and roof access in a thermally broken glazed assembly for commercial applications. Available in sizes up to 9.8 x 4.6 ft (3000 x 1400 mm), it uses documented EN 12101-2 smoke-vent test data together with 24V actuation and electromagnetic locking to support dependable smoke ventilation performance and controlled day-to-day operation.

External Curb Liner

An aluminum curb liner encloses the insulation, provides a durable heat-resistant surface, and wraps around all four sides of the upstand.

Insulation Options

An 11.8 in. (300 mm) insulated upstand with a thermally broken build-up and mineral wool insulation is available for projects that need stronger envelope performance.

Common questions

A glazed smoke vent provides the required smoke ventilation function while also bringing daylight into the building. This can support occupant comfort and reduce reliance on artificial lighting in circulation and shared spaces.
The unit uses a 1.4 in. (35.5 mm) sealed double-glazed assembly with approximate U-factor 0.26 and R-value about 3.8. The glazing includes toughened and laminated panes with an argon-filled warm-edge silver spacer.
The thermally broken lid and frame help reduce thermal bridging through the assembly, supporting more stable indoor temperatures and improved energy efficiency.
The unit can be supplied with electromagnetic locking so it remains securely closed during normal operation while still allowing rapid release and activation during a fire event.
