Waterfront Integrated Resort

Surespan recently undertook the task of designing and manufacturing a significant stainless steel hydraulic opening recessed floor door for the prestigious Waterfront Integrated Resort project in Sri Lanka, also known as Cinnamon Life.

This project represents Sri Lanka’s largest and most iconic mixed development, valued at $850 million and located in the heart of the capital, Colombo.

Designed and constructed by Balmond Studio, the resort embodies the concept of a ‘city within a city’, encompassing two 5-star luxury hotels, office spaces, residences, and an array of premium retail and entertainment options. It aims to stand as a beacon of Sri Lanka’s ambition, growth, and desire to establish an iconic landmark within Asia.

In response to the project’s requirements, Surespan was commissioned to craft a hatch that would fit an opening of 21 feet by 15 feet, with the capability to endure a slow-moving wheel load of 10kN/m2. The pan type door was specifically engineered to be recessed for the inclusion of a 30mm Natural Stone Slab infill, weighing approximately 4500lbs, ensuring a seamless blend with its surroundings.

A standout feature of the largest recessed floor hatch manufactured by Surespan is its theoretical sound reduction capacity of 45dB, marking a significant advancement in acoustic performance. Furthermore, to simplify the installation process, lifting points were thoughtfully incorporated into the frame’s exterior design. This project highlights Surespan’s commitment to innovation, quality, and the ability to meet the demanding specifications of landmark developments.

South Clyde Energy Centre

Surespan supplied a bespoke hydraulically operated double-leaf access cover package for the South Clyde Energy Centre, a major Energy-from-Waste facility under construction in Glasgow.

Centenario Ratones Lithium Plant

The project The Centenario Ratones plant is one of the most significant lithium projects in South America.
