In this context of innovation and luxury, Surespan supplied 16 SRHP/50/MW Roof Hatches crafted from Marine-Grade Aluminium and designed to meet the project’s exacting specifications. Each hatch measures 900 x 900mm and is equipped with non-combustible mineral wool insulation and a 300mm upstand, ensuring enhanced thermal performance and safety. We also used LO1, LO2, and LO4 locking mechanisms, providing secure access, an essential feature for such high-profile buildings.
A standout aspect of these hatches is their finish, featuring PVDF coating to Kynar ADS® II in RAL 9002 for both the interior and exterior, offering superior durability and resistance to the harsh environmental conditions of Qatar. The 50mm polyisocyanurate board, standard in these hatches, achieves an impressive thermal conductivity rate of 0.043 W/m²K, further underlining the project’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
Designed with a thermally broken lid and upstand, the hatches ensure minimal thermal transfer, enhancing the buildings’ overall energy performance. The gas spring-assisted opening mechanism allows for easy operation, opening to 85° for convenient access, while the double unbroken EPDM seal guarantees a weathertight seal, protecting against water ingress.
